Marco Polo: Journey to the East
This Biography chronicles the life and travels of Marco Polo. Polo's written account of his travels became one of the most famous books in world history, and is credited with being the inspiration for Christopher Colombus's voyages. Polo's book offered Europe its first contact with the east and the riches that lay beyond the charted world. Marco Polo: Journey to the East would be useful for classes on European history, Asian history, Middle Eastern history, Renaissance history, journalism and geography. It is appropriate for middle school and high school.
