Lt. Merlin Daigle

Lt. Merlin Daigle is a 13-year veteran of the Terrebonne Parish Sheriff’s Office. He is also a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and proudly hangs his military dog tags from the rearview mirror of his patrol unit.

Lt. Daigle is a physically imposing figure, which serves him well in getting the attention of the deputies whom he supervises, as well as troublemakers he encounters in the field. His fellow officers with the T.P.S.O. will tell you, in spite of seldom cracking a smile, Lt. Daigle is actually “the biggest teddy bear in the department.”

With the intensity of a U.S. Marine trained to conceal his tactical position, Daigle will grin slightly and tell you “it’s part of his charm.” It is likely that Lt. Daigle does light up a bit when he hears a radio call from one particular T.P.S.O. dispatcher – his wife.
