Kyondra
AT THE CONCLUSION OF PRODUCTIONKyondra recently sang in a talent show and hopes to record her songs. No longer seeking male attention, she now focuses on school and hopes to join the track team.
LATEST UPDATE: MAY 2013After initial improvement, Kyondra struggled to stay on the right path. She was once again distracted by boys and spent much of her time at her boyfriend's house. Eventually arrested for truancy, a two-day stay in jail reminded her of the consequences of her bad behavior, which helped put her back on the right track. She now hopes to once again run track and plans to try out for the cheerleading squad and continue with her singing career.
Kandra
AT THE CONCLUSION OF PRODUCTIONStill helping her disabled grandparents, Kandra also exercises daily by walking to school. In addition to colleges, Inv. Walls is helping her apply to the police academy.
LATEST UPDATE: MAY 2013Kandra is living with her disabled grandparents, continuing to help them with their everyday needs. She's also made exercise a regular part of her life and plans to soon join a gym. After graduating from high school this year, she still hopes to enter the police academy, citing the Richland County officers as a continued inspiration.
Kavyun
AT THE CONCLUSION OF PRODUCTIONThough she still attends church, Kavyun has reverted to aggressive behavior. She hits Kandra, threatens her mother and rejects her sisters' advice.
LATEST UPDATE: MAY 2013Kayvyun has struggled since participating in the jail tour program. Although she spent three weeks in a residential program for children with behavior problems, Kayvyun reverted almost immediately afterward to her aggressive and violent ways. She assaulted her mother and then assaulted the police who intervened on her mother's behalf. Kayvyun's mother has not given up on her daughter and continues to seek help.
Breanna
AT THE CONCLUSION OF PRODUCTIONAfter receiving probation, Breanna volunteered at a youth club, which liked her work and offered her a job. She improved her grades and has joined the ROTC.
LATEST UPDATE: MAY 2013Breanna continues to excel. She started attending a new school and was relieved that she was finally able to "start over and make a fresh start." She has made positive new friends and has left bad influences behind. She's determined to get good grades and try out for her new school's step team. Although no longer participating in ROTC, she nevertheless plans on joining the military after graduation.
