In the Oneida County Jail in New York, one of a trio of teen hoodlums is made a brutal example in a restraint chair and officers cuff an explosive bully before he even enters the jail.

Donte

AT THE CONCLUSION OF PRODUCTIONDonte no longer fights but recently disappointed his dad by smoking pot. He then focused on completing summer school. He plans to try out for school sports.

LATEST UPDATE: MAY 2013Donte was recently suspended for bringing a knife to school, which he claims he did for protection from gang members. Transferred to an alternative school for the rest of the year, his behavior has improved. He doesn't pick fights, do drugs or show disrespect. Donte no longer hangs out with buddy Daryun.

Daryun

AT THE CONCLUSION OF PRODUCTIONHaving quit pot and stealing, Daryun instead babysits while his mom works. He made the school football team and no longer hangs with Donte and Johnny.

LATEST UPDATE: MAY 2013Daryun has been staying out of trouble although he does still smoke weed and recently got into one fight. As a reminder, he and his mother sometimes watch the episode of "Beyond Scared Straight" in which he toured the jail, something he says "keeps him on track." He still takes care of his siblings, is looking forward to a summer work program and hopes to find a permanent job. He's now receives passing grades, allowing him to try out for the basketball and football. Daryun recently traveled outside the country for the first time, going to Barbados to visit extended family.
