Latest Update: December 2011:
Since the prison visit, Ian and his mother made an agreement to let go of their past differences and start with a fresh outlook. Latest Update: December 2011:
Vini, now 18-years-old, has not dealt drugs since the prison visit. He supports himself working full-time at a fast-food restaurant, and plans to make his mother proud by passing the GED exam and attending community college.

Vini stopped hanging out in bad crowds, but is still smoking marijuana daily. He claims the drug helps with his back injury, which he suffered during a car accident that killed his fellow passenger and best friend, Isaac. Vini is in the process of obtaining a medical marijuana card so that he may continue to medicate himself legally.

Once a week, Vini visits the grave where Isaac is buried. Vini uses the love and memories he shared with Isaac to write and record rap songs in Isaac's honor. Vini plans to release the songs via the web for the world to hear.
