Where are you from?
I was born in Springfield, Oregon. I’ve lived in Eugene and Springfield, Oregon most of my life.
What are the best parts of your job?
I am a social butterfly and my job is basically socializing and interacting with people all day long. I love meeting new people! My job promotes a healthy lifestyle that helps motivate and keep me on track on a daily basis. I don’t want to be a hypocrite at my job, so I do my best to practice what I preach.
Why do you love it?
I love that I am in a field surrounded by happy, energetic people that love life and strive to be healthy and fit. My job is a constant motivator for me to make healthy choices. It is extremely rewarding [to see] the personal successes of my clients/customers. When a client comes to me for help or seeks advice and I am able to help them, it makes me feel good about myself and makes me feel that my job is meaningful and full of purpose. I love helping people and sharing my knowledge, including my own personal success over obstacles and life challenges.
What’s the best experience you’ve had on the job?
I have so many great experiences that it’s tough to narrow down the best ones. That’s another reason I love my job so much. I’ve had many people come back and personally thank me or send me something to say thank you. People have said that I have personally affected their lives and they really appreciated the time I spent with them and the customer service that I provided. It’s so cool to have people come back grinning ear to ear and just feeling better about themselves. You can see the change in their confidence. It is a great feeling to impact and help someone in such a positive way!
What do you like to do for fun in your spare time?
I love hanging out with my family and friends and boyfriend. I love to exercise and be active. I love sunshine and hanging out in our boat at the lake. Wakeboarding, snowboarding, long boarding, soccer, biking, hiking, running…you name it! But mostly I love my family. I’m a workaholic, so I try and spend quality time with family and close friends as much as possible.
What did you learn about yourself from the experience?
I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I already knew that I was a risk taker and competitive, so this experience definitely confirmed that. I learned that I am a strong, independent young woman. I don't let people put words in my mouth. I stick to my guns and stand up for myself.
What was the toughest part of the process for you?
The toughest part was being isolated and alone in my thoughts with no one to talk to or relate to. I had to keep everything a secret and was filled with emotion and dying to talk to anybody about it.
How has being on the show changed your life and your family's life?
My confidence is at an all-time high and I feel empowered. My family is extremely proud.
How do you like your new opportunity?
I'm thrilled and very excited about my future. It's just the beginning for my career.
Would you have done anything different during the competition?
If I had known that I would be running around in shorts and a sports bra on TV I probably would have spent a little more time in the gym working on my abs. I wouldn't have done anything different, otherwise. I represented myself in true form. It was a great experience that made me push myself and believe in myself.
